teaching second grade!

I teach fifth grade. I think the lowest I could stand to go would be third. My hat goes off to those who can tolerate what you have described above. Most of the teachers I have known who have made a grade level change have gone up, not down in the grades. Working with little kids DOES take a great deal of patience. I taught second grade for one year, and I don't think I would voluntarily ever go back there. You may indeed need a grade level change to be happy, too.
