Don't forget that you also need to give yourself a pat on the back for doing such a noble profession. Good for you that you are taking time for yourself. I wish other first year teachers would do the same. It seems that they give so much until they are burnt out and have nothing left. That does nobody any good.

The next thing is to leave a little earlier each day, or have one day when you leave at a designated time no matter what. My goal is to be out of there by 5:00 each day. That means I put in a ten-hour day and that is plenty. Like you said, no one has died yet.
