bad principals
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I have had a couple of principals I believed did not truly see my situation clearly. Either that, or they chose to put blinders on and pretend not to understand.

I have improved as a teacher over the years; however,
I remain fundamentally the same as I was the first day I stepped into a classroom. As a teacher, I have always strived to do my very best and to work long and hard. However, I have been cut apart by a couple of principals over the years who didn't seem to realize this or care to notice. When you can get a rating of "Excellent" from several principals in a row, and "Below Standard" from
the next, as I did, you quickly realize that you haven't become a worse teacher. However, you do realize that you have done the best that you can, continue your desire to improve and work hard, and not worry about the negative (maybe unfair) remarks of the principal.

A good principal is a joy to work with. I hope you will find one who more closely matches your style.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Hopwood Blick
