Document, document, document - EVERYTHING! Document that you have gone to your principal for support. Ask for a mentor. If he doesn't provide you with one, go up the chain and ask for help. There is no reason, at this day and age, that we should allow our first year teachers to "struggle through" because that's what our predecesors have done. I like the previous poster's idea of compiling a list. Certainly give it a try, document that you asked for help! Keep your head up and remember that not just anyone can do the job of the teacher!
