But I HAVE to do it all!
By frustrated

Clip to ScrapBook
Gosh, Casey, I know EXACTLY how you feel! I am afraid to ask for help with particularly difficult students, because I am afraid the principal will (yet again) turn it around and say it's my fault.

I TRY to remind myself
that I cannot do it all, but it seems like I always get "called" on the things I don't do. Mind you, I do all my lesson plans, prepare all my materials, put up bulletin boards, and handle grading. I take care of all school requirements, from mandated assessments to PTA fundraisers, and I do it all on time. I stay at school late and sometimes come in on Saturdays. I call parents when
there are problems with the kids (that idea of making positive calls is just NOT going to work this year) and consult with outside specialists whenever I can. But I CANNOT do it all. I am putting in as much time as I can. But I have 68 students (team teaching), and there are two many individual student issues to handle. Yet what happens? Some kid whose parents I didn't call hits some other kid ... and I didn't even know ... the victim's parents call the principal ... and the principal gets mad at me for not calling the parents of the perpetrator!
