New Student...

I wish I could claim this idea as my own but in truth I saw another teacher and her class do this: Each child drew a picture and wrote a sentence (grade one/two class) of a classroom procedure or school procedure they felt the new student should know...then they put them all in a duotang for the new student...(ex. Every Wednesday morning we have gym...We have assemblies on Fridays) It was a nice little gift that all the students helped to make and I am sure the teacher talked to her class during this project about what it was like to be new...what they could do to make the student feel welcome, etc...in order to prep the class for the new arrivalGood luck...I am sure it will go well!
