Why I Became a Teacher
By Torrey

Clip to ScrapBook
Reasons why: (in no particular order)

1.) Smiling faces!
2.) I love kids...PERIOD!
3.) I loved to learn and I wanted to share that love of learning with others.
4.) Honestly, I love the paraphanillia that comes
with teaching, from the awesome science kits to computers....bulletin boards to white boards. I love it all!
5.) The challege. NO JOB is more challenging then teaching.
6.) Every day is different.
7.) Oppertunities for me to keep being a life long learner.
8.) Watching the face of a child who finally gets a concept they've been struggling with.

The list could go on and

on forever, but those are some of the reasons why I love to teach. If after a long day of grading papers, breaking up fights, mending boo-boo's and broken hearts, dealing with irate parents and/or administrators, lost or incomplete homework, emotional outbursts, test scores and endless streams of paperwork and you can still say you will love teaching, then its the job for you. Only go into teaching if you can honestly feel that the politics and downslides of it won't squash your enthusiasm and make you want to be back with a smile on your face! I have wanted to be a teacher forever, and every day is an adventure for me. The downsides definatly DO NO outweigh the good things...even though last year I had the job that even Satan would be scared of. I love it, and hope you consider it! Best of luck.
