Consistency
By Sarah

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree with Pam. Make a schedule and post it so students are able to see it. I teach kindergarten for the first time and I struggled with behavior. I found that even though I had a scheduled, I wasn't sticking to it. Once I began to follow my schedule on a consistent basis, behavior problems occured less and less. Students know what is coming and they don't have the time to play because they know what they are to do during each transition. It has solved many problems when I have a substitute as well. I've had comments such as "your students were wonderful and know their schedule!" It helps.
