A few tips

Know your students.
Some get over stimulated, so you will want to minimize your wall displays and the amount of materials accessible.

Design a layout that allows for easy movement, not only for wheelchairs but for teacher and parapros walking between students.

Keep to the routine as much as possible. VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Post the daily schedule and use BoardMaker symbols. The picture cues work very well for some students.

Make sure you have a good supply of gloves and disinfectant spray on hand. Your custodian can get those for you. Kleenex, bandaids and baby wipes are great to have on hand.

Keep emergency contact numbers handy.

I could go on and on but I am sure you will get more posts here.
