recycling
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
Do a search for "Earth Day Activities" and you'll come up with plenty of material for recycling lessons.

One other suggestion. This is obscure and you may not want to pursue it, but....
About two years ago National
Geographic and the Smithsonian put together a geography unit called "Earth 2 U". They gathered materials to teach elementary school geography and placed them in big blue trunks. The trunks were sent out to the fifty states, about two trunks to a state. Ours ended up in our state university's natural history museum. Others were sent to state run science centers, centralized school districts,
etc. The idea was for classroom teachers to be able to check out the materials for use in their classrooms. Among those materials were some absolutely wonderful things on recycling. If you could locate the trunk in your state you could possibly check it out and use those things.
