I teach at a private school in Upstate NY. Many of the surrounding public school districts are experiencing a large number of retirements by veteran teachers. This is a plus for those looking for employment. However, around here, near Buffalo, there are TONS of Education majors, as there are at least 8 colleges producing graduates who majored in education. I have lived here all my life, with the exception of 2 years in GA, and am fortunate to be able to teach where I do. NY can be a great place to live and work. The taxes are high here, but the people in our area are FABULOUS! Good luck! Ü
