2. Board Games -- Prepare board games using poster board, index cards, dice, and counters to create a board game similar to monopoly, where students move around the board, answering comprehension questions as they move. 20 questions is another good model. 3. Artifact Boxes -- set up a center where students create artifact boxes (shoe boxes) to summarize the important points of the story. Students should also use index cards to write a description of each artifact and why it was chosen/dreated for the artifact box These are just a few suggestions that I have successfully used in my classroom. As you can see it can be used for all grade levels, because you just adjust the requirements and content. It is a great idea to pull from a variety of resource books and websites. This has added a lot of innovative ideas to my teaching repertoire.
