Resigning By Maria in NY

I resigned in December '01. I agree with the previous post, it is not good to take a job just because it is a job. This I learned the hard way. I taught first grade and also like the previous post, it was not a good fit| for me. The faculty was unsupportative and the principal was not truthful about alot of circumstances dealing with the school. I gave plenty of notice, however in the end, I got an evaluation that was not terrible, but not wonderful. No one will see this eval, this was a private school and I will leave it off of my resume. I just wanted to also add my two cents to this discussion | | because as I read the posts on this board, I am happy that I am not alone. I feel that the decision was the best for me. I now am subbing in the public school system and I make a little more money than I did in the private school. There is A TON OF LESS STRESS. I like the subbing and I am getting more confidence as a result, learning from my past job and my past experiences. In the long run, you must do what is best for you. Think about it. The school year is almost over. At this point, I may wait until June and take off the summer to consider your choices. Let us know what you decide and good luck. Maria
