Judgemental Principals
By Frustrated, too

Clip to ScrapBook
Your principal sounds a lot like mine. This guy has a bad concept of me, and I feel like I can NEVER shake my reputation with him. The first week of school some irrational parent called with a complaint. My principal caters
to all parents, so he had to come have a talk with me about everything was my fault. Frustrated by him and everything else, I started to cry. Ever since then I have been this flustered, emotional child with no control, in his mind.

As you say, the principal sets a negative tone to your whole day. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a good mood because things are going

right, and then this guy calls and criticizes me, and then it becomes that I hate all the kids and I'm snapping at them.

In my opinion, these principals are making it far, far worse. If they were supportive and not just critical, we could better deal with these students who ... hello ... are not our faults.

And by the way, I also get criticized for turning to a higher source for discipline. I'm sorry, but I think a kid who is calling me bad words or disrupting EVERYBODY ELSE'S LEARNING should be out of the room.
