I'll bet they are watching more than you know. I think administrators can tell a great deal from observing teachers through the halls, on duty, etc. I have noticed my principal stroll down the hall and glancing into classrooms. If all else fails, tell them you are sending in a scholarship application and wondered if they could write you a letter of recommendation. To make sure you are being honest, really apply for a scholarship.
