Praxis
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I have not heard of the test which you took for certification. I had to take the NTE, which I believe is now known as the Praxis. I did well on it, but I did a lot of test prep. I went out and bought those guides which
went with the tests. I studied the examples very carefully and completed the examples in the practice book, over and over again. I know that my score would not have been as high if I had not practiced.

Also, does this test count off for items not completed? With the NTE (Praxis), I had 140 items to complete in 120 minutes. I knew that I had to finish the entire test or lose points.

I basically timed myself. I figured out where I needed to be by a certain time. The Personnel Director in my last district told me that his wife didn't pass the test because she didn't finish it. It's important to finish those tests. Not finishing can make the difference between passing and failing.

Just some things to think about.
