"the corner" seems to do wonders!
By Ashley

Clip to ScrapBook
There is a teacher that I know who uses "the corner" of her room as a place for punishment. When a child has broken a rule, he/she is then placed in "the corner" for a time period. There is also an "X" marked on the floor
for the child to know his/her boundary. *What she uses to determine their time is the child's age. Based on how old the child is... the child must stand in "the corner" for 1 minute per year of the child's age (times 2). So, if it is a child that's 5 yrs. of age that would be equal to 10 minutes. The children seem to work well with this plan. I was kinda skeptical at first when I
became aware of her plan, but it works extremely well for her. I have a plan set that already works well for me, but I do find this plan to be quite interesting... in that it might be of some use to others! Hope that I have helped & good luck in finding what works!
