you are not alone! i teach 6th grade and yes, these kids look bored! first off, half of them never seem to be paying attention. i have the same kids participating over and over again. all they want to do is socialize. they are a great group of kids. they are fun, but they never want to do work!!! if i give them a project they whine and complain like i just gave them a year's long project. i assign homework and it's like all hell breaking loose. so i do'nt thikn you are doing anything wrong. i think it's just this age group. good luck to you and happy holidays.
