I agree with Barb
By Jane

Clip to ScrapBook
I have moved around a lot by choice and have experienced what Barb talked about too. I have gone from a school where I was thought of VERY highly and respected and recently I decided I wanted to be closer to home and to
teach in the community where I live Commuting is hard. Well wow, I went from being well respected and the person people went to for advice to not being able to do ANYTHING right. I walked into a bad situation to begin with not knowing it and got a lot of the brunt of that situation from parents. Then I had a supervisor who constantly came in to "CHECK UP" on me. I am a special ed teacher
and she was always checking up to see if I had this IEP done and that mailed out etc....and this meeting scheduled, treating me like a rooky teacher when I had 14 years of experience and good credentials always doing my paperwork being in compliance etc.. Not to mention that I walked into a room that was a mess to begin with. I am an experienced teacher so I did not have any problems with discipline but the other nonsense was just terrible. The parents were very demanding because of what was not done in the past too. My supervisor and I had a big time personality conflict. I too ended up with a poor evaluation a 60!!!! I did not sign it, she never gave me a bad observation. We had it out at the end of the year and that is what it was based on. I did over step my boundries but it is really tough when you have to work in a situation like that. First off she needs to reolize that as a new teacher you need to learn and give you the support you need and not beat you. Gosh our jobs are hard enough. That really upsets me to hear how you are being treated, I don't advise you to do what I did with telling my supervisor off. Do get yourself a good game plan for when you get back. Don't beat yourself we all go through tough times. Find someone you can TRUST. Sometimes too if you talk to the wrong person things can get spread too be careful with that. Hang in there and DON'T GIVE UP. I ended up going back to my old school and yes commuting again.
