GM - Yeah, I was pretty happy to find an education related job that didn't have to involve getting no where in the classroom! I found this job in the newspaper here in DC, I have the advantage of living in an area where it is pretty easy to find jobs related to education but not teaching, since there are many organizations around the DC area that work with education (i.e. the NSF, Dept. of Education, etc.) I looked in papers and on-line for a while. I also looking into working doing admissions/financial aid at universities and private schools that would keep me in the system, just not teaching. I really enjoyed the school environment, just had some real bad experiences with kids (sexual harrassment towards me, bad parents calling me at home at all hours, etc). My advice is look anywhere you can - newspapers, online. For me it required a change of location from North Carolina up here to DC, which I didn't mind doing. Any more questions, feel free to drop me a line at awh@agiweb.org. Cheers and good luck! - Abi
