gettin out...

Like everyone else, I know exactly how you feel, and am not teaching anymore - and loving it! I did an internship teaching 8th grade science out of college. It was OK, but I decided to try it on my own at a different school| - for as much as I enjoy working with kids and 'helping' the future generations - it was bogus. Probably just the school and administrators that did it. So I decided that before I was going to make this my life, I needed to go out and do some other stuff. As hard as some say it is to find other jobs, you can make it. Right now I am actually doing research for a science digital library | |
and doing curriculum work - what I am really interested. I get the satisfaction of helping teachers and the future without having to be in the class myself. Teaching is something some people have 'in them' to do - It was not that way for me. I dreaded going to work everyday, and could not stand all the grading, lesson plans, etc. etc. neverending! I cannot tell you how much happier my life is now that I have found an education-related job out of the classroom. Do what feels right! - Abi
