I am glad to know that I am not the only one. I also teach third and I like your ideas. I actually pulled all my picture book recently becuase I had several students who are reading at a 5 and 6 level who were reading these 3 books and in hindsight maybe that was not the best descision. I read to my students daily and they can test on the book that I read when I finish but the students I was talking about in the original post will not take test on these books. I can't drag them to the computers so I am stumped on that situation. Thank you for helping me though.
