I like AR as an incentive, but I don't agree with using it for grading purposes. The program is designed so that if a child is reading on an appopriate level, he/she will make about an 80% on the test. 100% grades indicate that the book was too easy. How many high readers do you know that would be pleased with a 70 or 80%? Anyway, that is my opinion, but it is also pushed a lot in my school. I also have a few that just aren't interested in it. Sorry... not any good suggestions. Just rambling and sympathizing
