Homework
By Tammy

Clip to ScrapBook
I think homework is a necessary part of school if for no other reason than to give the student practice at the new skills. Mine generally have one piece of homework a night, ocassionally 2. If things get really stressed
at school they may have more but our homework policy says to keep it under 10 minutes per grade level. Homework also serves the purpose of involving the parent to a degree and keeping them informed on what the student is learning at school. I used to give more homework but have just recently cut down due to parent over-involvement. I had a parent walking their child through every single
math problem and she never tried any at home alone. She would get 100% on homework and then fail quizzes. Homework is only worth 10% of their total grade now.
