I teach a first and second combination class. I have some second graders mastering 100 addition facts in 3 minutes, just a few are still trying for 100 in 5 minutes. Subtraction is going the same way. My first graders got subtraction better than addition.
My slow-poke is also a little boy in second grade. He has spent many hours after school with me finishing his work. Mom is cooperating...if he has to stay...he loses a privilege at home. That was her decision, not mine. This same little boy is a low talker, too. What about yours?
