calendar time
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
Since kindergarteners meet on the rug often during the day you might want to break your calendar time up. Do the work with the date, perhaps the pattern mentioned in the above post, and counting the days in the month at the beginning of the day. Then revisit the calender later in the day to recite the days of the week, months of the year, add a straw or a coin to an ongoing count, or whatever other activities you usually do. This way you get the activities in but your kids can handle it because it's done in small chunks.
