"Beat" as in conquer in a competition By DSB

Ooops! Please disregard the title of my previous post. Looking at it I now realize that the word "beat" could be taken in a NEGATIVE context and may lead to deleted postings. In the above post the word "beat" was meant to| be used as in the common idiom "If you can't beat them, join them." I.E. games of sport or challenge. This post was in reference to the fact that if a class is noisy due to the many over-exciting holiday activities, a well-meaning and caring teacher who can not get them to be quiet can join them in the excitement of the holidays by giving them an activity that embraces their kinesthetic | | and inter-personal intelligences such as conducting a class-room play.This post is not intended to disparage any teacher, student teacher, or first year teacher. Only to encourage the profession of teachers and those who heed its calling.
