Hello! Thanks to everyone who is replying; it's so nice to see that others are out there! The school is in Wisconsin and the grade is 2nd. I'll tell you a little bit about this situation...This school has had the same| 2nd grade teacher for 12 years(all the other teachers in the school have also been there a long time.)This year, the school year began in August and that same teacher came back. However, the public schools began after Labor Day and that teacher got offered a job with the public schools. She chose to take that job because of financial situations at home. So, she taught this class for 2 |
| weeks then quit. A long term sub was in the class for another couple of weeks until they found the teacher that is there now. Well, this teacher loves the school-I talked to her-but her husband is being transferred back to their hometown in Colorado, so she has to go with him. These poor kids have been with 3 different teachers already this year!! The school is very small, but it is part of a larger system. I think that this school is a good school, but I think that the parents and the kids have had a rough year already so it will be difficult to come in. The class doesn't really have any bad behaviors-the worst being talking, so I don't think that discipline will be too much of a problem, especially because I student taught in Decatur, IL-where the kids were much, much worse! Well, there's some history of the situation. I'll be sure to keep you all posted! Thanks again!!
