Block scheduling

I teach sixth grade Language Arts in a middle school. I have three 90 minute classes. I agree it is a long time for these kids to sit still so one of my teammates and I started taking a bathroom break during each class. We take about five minutes during each class go to the the restroom, water fountain, talk to friends, and then return to work. Heck, I need the break as much as the kids. Other teachers don't do this because they feel it takes time away from teahcing but I feel it helps me to accomplish what I need to. The students listen to me especially if they know I will keep them from the break if I don't achieve my goal during my time.
