I totally agree with you. I could not believe that at the middle school level, the students are expected to sit through classes that college kids don't even sit through. 90 minutes is way too long. I hate having to keep the kids engrossed in something for that long. They either start talking or just rush through the work that I give them, and then I spend the rest of the time telling them to add things, or fix things. It is the worst thing. Back when I was in school we had 40 minute classes and I learned the necessary information. You are right it is too long. For the other poster - if you could post the titles of some of those books, I would appreciate it, because, at this point, I really need some help.
