To Casey
By I was named "Shocked"

Clip to ScrapBook
Casey,
I just went down about 35 posts on this board to reread what I'd written to you. I needed to know if it was indeed so bad that you'd decide to leave the boards over it. I answered that I was shocked that you'd
think you were overreacting, and then I totally validated your feelings, even your reasons for second-guessing your feelings, when I answered your second posting. You were troubled in your first post and reacting out of anger in your second. I remember checking back many, many days in a row, hoping that you'd answer and I'd know you were all right. You never even acknowledged my sincere
apology. I figured you were just too busy and let it go. Now I realize you are still upset. When I went back to check your post, I noticed that the people who sympathized with you and gave you good advice far outnumbered any posters who questioned your reliablity.

My point (and I totally include myself as an offender in this observation): I wonder why we take a situation and remember the "bad" we find (even it is relatively minute) and ignore the "good" we find (even if it is relatively, overwhelming greater)? It's like this: 10 people compliment us on the way we look and 2 people tell us we look tired or fat. Do we treasure the many positives or obsess over the few negatives? Sadly, I fear that we treasure, caress, court, and make bosoom buddies of the negatives!

At the very least, Casey, I think, before you leave the boards forever, you owe a word of thanks to the people who took their time to offer support, advice, and sympathy because there were more of them than of the others.

Now, I am still shocked that I have taken so much time to write this when I should be in bed asleep, storing up energy to face those little darlings tomorrow (or is it this) morning!
