help teaching fractions

You say you have "showed them over and over again" how to reduce fractions and they aren't getting it. I am curious what you have already tried in regards to teaching them to reduce. Also, do you know what kind of learners you have (visual, oral, auditory, etc.)? And what grade do you teach? It would be helpful in giving some advice.
