Kids
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
I would not take it personally. They may have just been looking for something to gripe about. You did ask them to tell you what bothers them. Sometimes kids will say that school is boring or they don't like their teachers
as a defense mechanism. It is probably more likely that they are doing poorly and don't want you to think they care. They may also think that you don't like them. I have met very few students who don't like a teacher that they KNOW likes them. Have you told them you liked them lately? I would write a note back to them on their journals about something positive that you noticed or
maybe even write that you do like them or appreciate their hard work. I am sure you are not neglecting them or are mean to them but sometimes kids are more sensitive and need that extra bit of reassurance. Remember they are just kids.
