There's not much I can add either. I do the same thing, I will try to answer those that seem to have been ignored, but sometimes I just don't have the answer. And yes general questions are more difficult.

Also although
I try to visit this site most days, if things get really busy I may not be back at the site for a week or longer. So if I said I'd help with something, I may forget I posted that response. If the one who said they'd give you info left an email address, I'd send them an email.
Also sometimes someone chances on the site, answers a few posts and then never returns. I also know a number

frequent more than one board - I recognize their posts. So they may forget which board had which question.

I'd go back to your original post and see if there are ways you can make it more clear, grade level, exactly what you are looking for. See if another board is more suitable for the question - i.e. one of the grade specific boards. But don't stop posting - there are so many fantastic teachers with great ideas on these boards I'd hate to see you miss out.
