We are!

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Joe! I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear, my principal is very supportive (she's also being asscused, which is not true). As a matter of fact, she has been telling me from day one to document everything. Which I have
been doing. Listen to the latest incident. On Wednesday, this "parent" who is now acting as a "watch dog" during assembly (morning) noticed that another student in my class hit one of his fellow classmates. (We're not talking about his child by the way) He decided to report it to the teacher on duty, who handled the situation as she saw fit. However, that wasn't good enough for him. As
my class was being dismissed, he asked if he could ask me something for a second. I said sure (my mistake). He informed me of what happened and went on to say that,if our school has "zero tolerance" for hitting, then this student should be suspended also. Because as he said, "my son was suspended for the same thing". (If we report every little thing a child does throughout the course of the day every child would most likely be suspended. You have to take into acount the severity of the situation (were they just rough housing or was it malicious, how many times has this child been in trouble etc... Unlike his child who has had several offences brought against him). He also mentioned that he felt certain children are just singled out (meaning his son). He went on to say more to argue his position, I told him well, he needs to talk to the teacher who is on duty(whom I have spoken with). Then I finally said, that he should speak with the principal. The principal is usually in assembly, but, she wasn't there at that time. Later on that day,I met with my principal and so did the teacher on duty. I was told I and the teacher on duty handeled the situation correctly, and that this is it, he's harassing me. She called the lawyer, and we faxed everything over. Now, from what I understand I think they're going to send him a letter accusing him of harassement and either he better stop now or pull his child out of the school. Today he didn't tell me anything, but tomorrow if he or his wife say something I think I will just lose it. I don't know if his picking on me because I'm a new teacher or what. Last year, even though he was always around he didn't bother the teachers. But,from what I was told, his child wasn't as "bad" but, "bad" enough, maybe this kid is just coming out now. Who Knows! Anyway, thanks for your advice, and for listening, I had to turn in everything I documented so, we'll see what happens from here. Sorry, for any grammatical errors its about 12:30 a.m. Good-Night! (Morning).
