overwhelmed
By another new teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm also a new, first year teacher, but with 3-,4- & 5- year olds, in an Early Childhood Program for special needs ranging from autism spectrums to simple speech lisps. I'm up to my eyebrows in IEP's, paperwork, testing
& loads of other stuff. I also feel that the school has turned into a ghost town by the time I leave each day. But I'm hanging in there.
I wanted to share MY experience on pulling things randomly. I had a great little booklet on my desk for the kids to assemble that day, but when I came in the copier was broken down. I decided, the heck with it, after circle activities & our basic
review , I'd just give the kids more free play time. Well, wouldn't you know it, THAT was the day my assistant principal decided to come in & do an evaluation on my teaching! Luckily I can think fast on my feet and I have a WONDERFUL aide who went along with my lead as if it was all planned beforehand! My assistant principal LOVED my organization and my very well planned educational centers (that I had whipped up off the top of my head!) If he only knew! I figured if I could make it through THAT, I'll make it, at least until summer vacation!
Good Luck to all!
