Sad :(
By Elaine

Clip to ScrapBook
What a waste of funds and sad situation for your students. I can't imagine an administrator (We have a wonderfully savy principal who always calls on us for our opinions before ordering.) acting without checking with classroom
teachers who are the experts in this case. I have students who read below grade level, and I know the frustration of trying to find books they really can AND want to read. I am using books on tape that I have purchased with my own money. It is expensive, but I feel I have to do something for my students who long to read books about relative, interesting topics on their reading
levels. It's a tall order to find "just the right fit" in literature for these kids. It's a shame to think that a mistake has been made in ordering when moneys were available to purchase needed materials. I feel for you in this sad situation.
Elaine
