Words of wisdom...check with your art teacher. Not all are stingy with their supplies! ( On A side note here, I can't stand those teachers who come and raid my loot when I am not there, but those who ask...) Your art treacher
knows the class and can offer suggestions for keeping a bit of order...and may help with supplies. We order in bulk and have extras occasionally, not to mention the "treasures" (read trash) the kids bring in. I also send out a letter at the beginning of the school year with donations requested by grade level...you would be amazed at how awesome my kids and parents have been, then you

end up with a stock pile...baggies, foil, etc.
The art teacher may also have a discount somewhere that you may be able to use...we hunt all over for those! And if you know of a project you would like to do next year, discuss ordering extras with your art teacher...I do my order in the Spring for the following year and my principal appreciates it when we work together to buy bulk supplies.
Doing hands on is great, some kids learn the best this way...I know I did! LOL
Good luck and keep it up! You will be amazed at the impact you have had in the future...just wait til you run into a HS kid or adult you had and they say, hey Mrs C. remember doing this...it was great!
