Earlier this year I was sleepily getting out of bed and getting dressed for work. It was dark, because I leave about 6:30 for work each day. In completing my dressing, putting on my shoes, I put on my old work shoes with a nice outfit. My old work shoes are the same style exactly as my new ones, so I hadn't noticed the difference in my sleepy, in-a-hurry state to go. I did once the glare of the fluorescent lights of the classroom hit them. They had paint, concrete stains, and every other thing imaginable on them. While they weren't mismatched to each other, they didn't exactly compliment my outfit. I did my best to clean them up to make them as presentable as possible, and nobody really seemed to notice my ugly shoes.
