Motivating 5th graders
By jennifer

Clip to ScrapBook
WHne I motivate my students its usually with something I know they like or will be excited about. For instance, Before reading the book Hatchet I sparked a discussion about camping and things they would take with them on a camping trip. We brainstormed ideas and talked about the forest/wilderness. After that, I asked them to think about what it would be like tto be stranded alone in the wilderness...How would you survive. This sparked a great discussion..The next day when I passed out the books, they couldn't wait to dive into them!
