Clip to ScrapBook
Every week I intro vocabulary through the use of sentences and the students use context clues to arrive at the definition. But once we complete this activity I give each student either a definition or a sentence with the
vocab word omitted. The students walk around the room and stop at each person they meet and the other person must read the clue and figure out the word. When I ring a bell, all the students stop and I tell them to match their def/sent to the correct vocabulary word that is taped to the wall. All of those at the same word must check with each other and agree. I then go around the room
and we give thumbs up or down as to if we agree or not. I then tape the def/sent to the wall under the word and leave them up until the vocab test. The students enjoy getting up and moving around. Plus, they get to see many definitions and sentences for each word. I hope this makes some sense!!!
