Investigations by TERC
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Cheryl,
I too, enjoy using Investigations. You might want to get the book 'Cognitively Guided Instruction' by Carpenter and Fennema (NCTM/Heinemann). This will be helpful in constructing authentic and meaningful problem solving activities as well as giving more of the theory behind the TERC investigations. CGI has two CD roms with classroom vignettes, etc. And yes, it is holistic, but I'd much rather teach from meaning-whole to part to whole rather than isolated splintered skills. Best of luck. ;-D
