classroom mgt. and writing
By cindy

Clip to ScrapBook
First of all, warning bells ring in my head every time a teacher uses writing as a punishment! You don't want them to associate writing with negativity. Secondly, why is your principal just telling you how bad the class
is without offering support? Shame on her or him for just dumping this class on you without helping you manage them. Third, do you have a classroom management plan in place? If not, you'd better devise one, and quick! Check out Assertive Discipline. I know there are people who don't like it, but it might provide you with a basic plan that will work with these kids. But not without
principal support! Get the A.D. book (your principal may already have it) and work WITH your principal to come up with a plan, teach it to the kids continually, post it, and refer to it often. Good luck!
