Problem class
By MaryM

Clip to ScrapBook
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! I too have had the class from hell and Lydia is right - keep them busy and in their seats at all times except when necessary. Try giving small rewards (Hershey's Kiss for example) to the 1 or 2 that
are behaving and keep doing that. Let the others see that there is a reward for good behavior. Not all of them will come around, but a few will. Give them lower level easier things to do - some that are on the same skill, but they can feel like they can do. I have found that alot of times kids don't do the work because it is too hard and they just won't try. Granted, some kids are masters
at avoiding work and won't do it anyway. Read picture books to them that are on subjects that they relate to and have them write down their reactions to the story. We only have about 2 1/2 months to go, so hang in there. Don't let them see you get upset - THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT! Let us know how it goes.
