depression
By pjm

Clip to ScrapBook
Yes I do see depression in my students and have seen two of them put on medication for it. One more is soon to be seen by his doctor for depression.

It used to be that people/doctors didn't think children became depressed because after all what did children have to be depressed about? Thankfully modern medicine has discovered that depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and can be treated successfully.

Have you ever stopped to wonder about the increase in teen age suicide? It's depression untreated or unrecognized by parents and school staff. We need to educate our teachers on how to recognize depression in children and how to approach parents when it is suspected - without the parents going crazy!
