Clip to ScrapBook
Tell the students that you are excited about starting student teaching in fifth grade and that you would like to start out by playing a game. Pass around a roll of toliet paper (use paper towels if you think your group is
not mature enough to handle the tp). Tell them that you will not be telling them the rules of the game until each student has taken as many sheets of toliet paper that he/she thinks will be needed to win the game. Once they all have their sheets, explain to them that for each sheet they took, they need to share one piece of information about themself with the class. I have even done
this at new teacher orientation. It always gets surprised reactions and turns out to be very informative and a lot of fun. Good luck. Fifth grade is great!
