5th grade is so awesome!!!!

I am a first year teacher. I student taught in 4th and 7th grade, and I substituted for a half a year in K. So, I have a little bit of everything, and 5th grade is by far the best place to be. The students are a blast, and their independence makes life so much easier. They can check much of their own work, which gives them immediate feedback and a chance to ask questions, and will help get you home before 8 everynight!!! Their attitudes can be a problem, but my sense of humor works well with the kids, and they want to please me because they know we will have fun learning if they cooperate. Just make your expectations very clear and they will cooperate. They are so much fun. You'll love it!!!!
