5th grade

I taught 2nd grade my first year (and loved it, what an adorable age!) but then was moved to 5th due to class sizes. I will have to tell you that I absolutely love 5th grade. I really think that you will too. As far as what is taught, it may depend on your state. We teach American History, we use the Accelerated Reading program, Saxon Math and Phonics...pretty similar to 2nd grade, just a few levels up! It is a great curriculum, I like teaching American History a lot. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that 5th grade is great. The kids get your jokes, they can work independently when need be, and can handle group work easily. Best of luck to you. I hope you get the job! Just relax for the interview and be yourself.
