Clip to ScrapBook
I have found a wonderful book on poetry, "Poetry Writing Handbook," written by Greta Barclay Lipson, Ed.D., published by Learning & Teaching Company. It has an aray of poems, their definitions, histories, and examples. My favorite that I have taught fourth graders is the Lune. It is similar to Haiku. It has only three lines. The first line is made up of 3 words, the 2nd line 5 words and the 3rd line 3 words. Best part is it doesn't have to rhyme. I hope this helps.
