freak the mighty!
By Chris

Clip to ScrapBook
Kara-
I just read this book last night and I fell in love with it. I teach fifth. Do you think the entire book is completely appropriate for fifth? I know on the book board awhile back people were debating this but never
came to an answer...? Anyway, I think you could have them track the change in relationship between Freak and the Mighty throughout the book, maybe with a graphic organizer, then turn that into an expoitory essay. Also, maybe write about what makes their friendship work...maybe write themes at the end because theme is so rich.. Also there are so many great lines in that book. maybe have
the kids each pick one and write why they are great and illustrate them... These are alljust off the top of my head. If I think of any more I will definitely post. I want to do this as a read aloud.
